Gravatar "It appears that Turkish democracy is'nt a example for the Islamic world, while Turkish fascism probably is."

I agree, lots of Americans see the Kurds these days as far more agreable, reasonable and friendly.

And the Shia in the south, for the most part, (apart from a fanatic minority) have also earned respect.

America has no dreams of empire, and we would rather have our troops at home.

And a good amount of the good feelings America has for the people of Iraq in general is they are helping us reach the goal of bringing our sons home, leaving a free people with hope for a good future behind us.

To that end, from the very start, Turkey has been unhelpfull, beginning with blocking our entrance from the north.

This hurt a lot, esp allowing a base of terror to be setup in Syria, because we could not close off the north like we needed to early.

Then there is their brutal history of them, not only their crimes against the Kurds, but the Armenians, and their occupation

Gravatar Then there is the brutal history of them, not only their crimes against the Kurds, but the Armenians, and their occupation of Cyprus.

I dont care to look back further than that, as the whole world was a brutal place if you look back far enough.

But the Turks need to learn to respect the simple human rights of the single person to live free of oppression.

And forget their dreams of a new Ottoman Empire.

Seems to me, the model of democracy in the east, is going to be Iraq.

May god smile on our efforts.

Gravatar Turkey and human rights.

Now that's an oxymoron if I've ever heard one.

And I have to say I haven't read the book, but it's funny how the U.S. is depicted as the bad guy for attacking turkey, when it's actually turkey invading another sovereign state just because the miserable life of its own Kurdish population is so bad that they "may" want to secede after the establishment of an autonomous state in Souther Kurdistan.

Gravatar smko why dont u update on the current negotiations between arabs and kurds

Gravatar Must of been some sort of fluke that kurds were able to use the internet. You people are morons, Turkey isn't anti american, you people are just pissed off that you don't have your own country and you blame your problems on turkey.
