Gravatar At the end of Feb. we recieved an e-mail from a woman named Melissa asking us if we wanted to adopt her 1 year old son... I wonder if it was the same person? She refused to go to LDSFS, so we basically had to tell her that we couldn't work with her. It was hard, but as potential adoptive parents it's important to protect ourselves emotionally and financially.
I am so sorry you had to go through this, it makes 'waiting' all the harder.
Cyber *hugs*

Gravatar People really are sick!

Gravatar That is horrible!!! I hope it didn't go on for too long before you figured it out. I have heard of things like this happening. I hope it never happens again to you. I hope you two are doing okay!

Gravatar I am so sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to the both of you.

Gravatar Shame on them. I'm sorry you had to go through that. My brother and his wife had to deal with a scammer when they were trying to adopt too. But, in the end, they found an amazing baby to bring to their family. I know the same will happen for you.

Gravatar So how did you figure out it was a scam? Did I miss that? There are good people out there--hopefully this scammer will take a lesson from them. That's so frustrating.

Gravatar I can't understand how people can be so horribly cruel. I'm so sorry that you got taken for such an emotional ride. It makes me heartsick to know that people are out there playing with other people's lives like that.

Gravatar Wow, such jerks. Good for you for not sending any $$$, but I'm sure you paid an emotional price.
