I think that is the perfect plan. It's not fun to be teased once, let alone repeatedly. I enjoyed looking through your "other blog" as well

What an unfortunate situation with your f-i-l. I am constantly amazed by the dynamics teasers have set up, so that there are people whose job is to soothe the victims, and stand up for the person who's just being mean. Frankly, anyone clever enough to come up with stinging barbs and biting comments MUST be clever enough to see the damage they cause. They just refuse to accept responsibility for their actions/words. Such behavior, coming from an adult no less, is simply inexcusable.
I applaud your strength and courage in the face of this difficult person. It is a shame that he won't see the wonderful woman his son chose to marry. Thankfully it is not part of your "wifely duties" to be a doormat for the in-laws. Relish the love of your family, and do your best to shine with joy and love...especially when confronted with the pettiness of those with something to prove. Who knows? Maybe his grip on bitterness will loosen...
