Really like your blog posting about disconnecting the ring wire, as It doubled my ADSL Max sync speed - and the phones seem to still work fine.

Gravatar Phil,

Just a comment. If you cut line 3 and have some 'not so old' phones that need line 3 on your filtered side they will not ring. In which case use one of the filters you just scrapped when fitting a filtered faceplate and the filter regenerates line 3 and the phone will ring!

You also get this effect with ATA's
and UK phones. Take a bag of filters with you when installing ATA'sso as to allow downstream phones to ring.

Nick

Gravatar Yes this worked when I did all of the sockets in the house, thanks

Gravatar Two points:
1. Disconnecting ring wire solved many of my disconnects and uped my sync speed by 60%.

2. The link (...over £100 - its at the bottom of this page at £30..)for price for getting an NTE5 faceplate fitted no longer works and cannot find the document it refres to in the BT price list.

Gravatar Found the new link, will update - http://www.serviceview.bt.com/li...- 0002_d0e63.htm
