Really like your blog posting about disconnecting the ring wire, as It doubled my ADSL Max sync speed - and the phones seem to still work fine.

Phil,
Just a comment. If you cut line 3 and have some 'not so old' phones that need line 3 on your filtered side they will not ring. In which case use one of the filters you just scrapped when fitting a filtered faceplate and the filter regenerates line 3 and the phone will ring!
You also get this effect with ATA's
and UK phones. Take a bag of filters with you when installing ATA'sso as to allow downstream phones to ring.

Two points:
1. Disconnecting ring wire solved many of my disconnects and uped my sync speed by 60%.
2. The link (...over £100 - its at the bottom of this page at £30..)for price for getting an NTE5 faceplate fitted no longer works and cannot find the document it refres to in the BT price list.
