I recall reading many years ago, about the fact that most all of the yellow bananas we eat came from one tree (m. gros michael)named after the man who discovered the abberation ion the jungle and took some cuttings back where they spread - It was from a science book not a fact on a place mat at a fast food resturant.

OK, this guys writes about bananas. Is he right or wrong? Well, first let's see what he thinks about Israel. He's anti-Israeli! Then all things he writes are wrong and must be ridiculed, including his thoughts on bananas.
I saw a few other things on the web on the same subject that were not quite so apocalyptic, but Hari could be right on the, for him, narrow question of the future of the banana. That's the joke of the post in a way: Hari thinks the profound political significance he sees in all this is more interesting than the disappearance of the banana.

Yeah, I guess Abraham Ben-Yosef finds it hard to criticize someone who is as anti-Jew as he is. Maybe if Hari had said something as earth-shattering and soul-searing as "Jewish babies should be allowed to grow up and live as Jews in the State of Israel", then he would have a problem. I'm sure Abraham Ben-Yosef will declare Fatwa against bananas if Hari, and the literally hundreds of state-sponsored Imams and Mullahs who feel the same, merely suggested it to him. What a free-thinker he is! We should all try to emulate such an individual...
