Wow. I hope it was a worthwhile magazine. I just had the opposite problem. I brought my OWN magazine to my son's dental appointment last week (Scientific American Mind, to which the office does not subscribe), and when I left carrying it, people in the waiting room stared at me as if I were stealing something and I felt all sheepish when I had nothing to feel guilty about. I guess no matter what, an avid reader just can't win.

It was Health magazine but it was an old, old issue. And I ended up subscribing. So, it was a win-win?

It was a win-win for the magazine and a total loss for the dentist. It was stealing plain and simple. One would expect this kind of behavior from Tony but not from a carefully raised middle class West Los An geles woman.
