Well like most political manifestos

WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOCKS!

i have to note one or two of these policies may have been influenced by the consumption of alcohol on Sunday night

Gravatar "WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOCKS!" Nice to have a well reasoned and intelligent rebuttal.

Gravatar WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLACKS indeed, it may not be well reasoned or especially intelligent, it is however accurate.

Gravatar Which part, do you disagree with everything ? Agree with anything ?

Gravatar i take it you want a response...

3rd world debt - believe gordo has already proposed cancelling debt owed by hipc (heavily indebted poor countries) to uk, but this needs multilateral action.

corporate responsibility - right on! though not sure how this accords with your policy on restricting litigation.

hunting - see donut's comments passim.

inheritance tax - ditto.

legal system - i see no evidence that the uk system is becoming anything like the us system though we do ive in an increasing blame culture - again this contradicts your policy on corporate resp.

pet licences - so long as you don't extend this to unnecessary human id cards that's fine!

energy - i'm guessing that you are anti-wind power. but, why are you ignoring the need for energy efficiency and savings. the reason for the looming energy crisis is in part because we consume too much. the policy needs to link up savings and exploitation of renewal resources. i know even some renegade greens say nuclear is the answer, but i'm still not convinced.

bbc - and what do you propose mrs donut watches instead?...

Gravatar "bbc - and what do you propose mrs donut watches instead?..." and Mrs YS I'm afraid, Lord save me from endless reruns of watching paint dry.

I didn't actually say I was trying to restrict litigation, although banning all those bloody ambulance chasing firms would be a great idea.

The original reason for lawyers existing was that they could explain the law to the layman and guide him through legal process, it seems now that as long as the layman is filthy rich, he can get away with almost anything.

I can't see the legal system ever being fair when the wealthy can afford better lawyers/solicitors/barristers than the average working man.

Pete is right on everything about energy, except that I'm all for wind power as well. This country, and most other countries, need a well thought out energy and linked resource / consumerism policy, time IS running out.
