To me, Christmas is more than a holiday and more than the day on which we celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is the day on which I truly attempt to live up to the wisdom that God bestowed upon us and that Jesus defined for all time through his love and eternal friendship.
On Christmas, I spend time with my family but I also consider deeply the meaning and truth of Christ, God and what it means to believe in them. I know that all that I hold true of each is not true as much has been done over the centuries to present truth in a false light and even to falsify the truth all together. However, I find that if we are willing to accept the basic facts that we know to be true and accept that we are certainly wrong about a great many things we THINK we know about God and Jesus, then our pure humility is enough to earn forgiveness for our failure to glean the truth. One day, we will know the full story of the Bible and what events really were and what they meant. Until then, I will continue to believe and seek the truth as I may. Until the truth find me or death take me, I hold to that. That is what Christmas is to me. God bless and Merry Christmas all!

Thanks to for sharing your opinions, your views and even when we differ from time to time... thank you for your *VOICE* because only in the meetings of great minds are we truly able to discern the good from the bad, the important from the not so important and the value of individuality as well as solidarity.
Here in our home, we are spending a very quiet and reflective day. This has been the most memorable Christmas, that I think, we've ever had!
This year, we shared one gift with one another on Christmas Eve. For each of the family I prepared "A Christmas Carol" gift.
In the box were three gifts.. one that was representative of Past.. one of the Present and one of the Future.
It was a great way to pass on heirlooms, traditions, things that we sometimes hold on to until we are gone and our loved ones are trying to sort through who should have had what and what was the inherent meaning of it. Present--each person got a recap of this most astounding year--with its wonders and its heartbreaking moments along with a shiny new 2005 penny. As I said to them each, as long as we have this one penny and each other.. we have MORE then some have today. For the future.. a blank sheet of paper with but one thought on it.. for the future is TRULY ours for the writing.
