Well... I've been trying to figure out how to respond to this one for almost a whole day. Here goes...
I think if you were in major trouble, or even potentially major trouble, you would have been told so by now. It's been a year since your diagnosis, and it was caught at an early stage. Technically, you didn't get through the surgery in one piece, but now that the chemo and radiation treatments are over, it seems you're cancer-free.
I would stay away from certain things if I were you. Like Shakesville. And possibly Americablog. And anything featuring a Fox News icon or anyone from Fox News, unless it's part of a Daily Show clip -- those are harmless.
On the positive side, lolcats and loldogs are known for their therapeutic value. As are old Cheech and Chong videos. Art, music, and literature are also helpful. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know...

Remember: You do not have an expiration date stamped on you.
I'm with Jim; if things were really bad, you would have heard about it. After everything that happened to Wavebreaker (Prime's brother) I can honestly say that.
I'm not going to try and be cheerful (there are days you really don't want to be cheerful, trust me) but I will say this--beat the hell outta this shit. And don't stop even when it asks for mercy.

Oh Shit! I've been away too long. I didn't know you were having troubles of this sort.
I was listening to NPR recently, and I heard of a man who was diagnosed with cancer. He flat out refused all the things you did. He did well. As I recall, he's okay these days.
Forgive my lack of specifics. My memory has become terrible. Age creeping up.
I understand the compulsion to dig. It's very hard to resist...like candy when on a diet.
Don't look. Just live dear. My family was(I do mean was, there's no one left but me) a history of that disease. I may be a statistic in there somewhere, but I refuse to allow myself to fear it. I've outlived my mother by ten years now, and I seem healthy enough. At near 70, I figure I've had plenty of time here, and whatever else there is, is gravy.
If you feel good at all, just keep on truckin' and have some fun. The blues will kill you man.
Cheech and Chong are excellent suggestions. I think laughing my ass off has kept me sane and alive all these years.
I'm on your side. You're one of the good guys.
Regards,
Ann Murray
