For UK audiences the problem with Ian McShane is Lovejoy. I don't know if you've seen it, but it's tosh. Unmitigated tosh about antiques. I dare say he's excellent in Deadwood, but I'll never forgive him for Lovejoy.

That's it! Thank you, hb, I've been trying to remember the name of that fucking show all week. The closest I could get was Taggart, and I knew that was wrong. Yes, Lovejoy was appalling, but the ontological fact of Al Swearengen makes up for a lot of antique-related bollocks.
