I've just been listening to Dave Ramsey's audiobook for the "Total Money Makeover." Good stuff, that.
Good to see you posting, bro. You still coming down to the Southland?

Glenn Beck, national radio talk show host, calls the lottery a "stupid person tax." I believe he is correct. The more money you spend on the lottery, the more stupid you are.

If you happen to hit on your 1 in 146 million odds, more power to you. But odds are very much stacked against you.
One rarity actually happened when the powerball got up to $340 million. It was the first time in Powerball history that if you bought every single ticket option (all 146 million of them), and you were the only winner, you would win more money than you spent.

Clarification-you would win more money than you spent AFTER taxes. The lump sum payment was like 164 million after taxes or something like that....

First let me point out that I do not play the lottery, and also think it is a sham. Just thought I would ask...........Trevor.......if you stop buying Star Wars toys that sit around and collect dust and decided to save that money in a mutual fund would you not be better off? Just a thought.

Tiffany, the difference is Trevor gets something out of his figurines. All you get out of the lottery is dissappointment and trash. Why aren't the environmentalist whacko's against the lottery? Look how many trees these Powerball tickets are killing!
