i don't know if you saw this today, but dewhurst announced to the media "I don't believe there's a constitutional right not to show up for work." classic. i love this town. not far north the emperor's cloning facilities are located, stormtroopers are everywhere...

It's funny you should mention the cloning facilities--I recently bought the Attack of the Clones DVD.
I, too, see comparisons between the Republicans and the evil adherents to the dark side of the Force. In fact, I recently compared the Republican takeover of the corporate lobbyists in Washington to Senator Palpatine's Machiavellianisms in a recent post. However, I think that if we are talking about Texas Republicans, Senator Palpatine is too grandiose for a realistic comparison: Dewhurst and Perry are more like Count Dooku, or, if you prefer, Count Dooky...or simply dooky.

actually, (i do so love metaphor) I was thinking the cloning vats are in Crawford, the stormtroopers at 10th and Congress, and yes, i would certainly liken Perry to the Count, and Dewhurst to the Banking Clan. ah, political fanboyisms, gotta love 'em...
