You whats really funny? Chapter 7 of "Dude, Where's My Country" by Michael Moore is called "Horatio Alger Must Die", but he doesn't blame Oprah, he just blames Horatio Alger. Later in the book he suggests (seriously) that Oprah should run for president.
oprah-like success stories don't really make me feel unsuccessful, but i've never been homeless or otherwise severely desperate...although i admit to ocassionally coveting her personal chef, trainer and fabulous wardrobe.
i've never heard oprah mention her politics, but i'd like to...could someone that wealthy and powerful actually be a voice for the people? she did give away cars to an entire audience full of teachers, but maybe that was for a tax break
