Wow.
I really want to believe all of that story, but it seems almost too scary to be true. I'd have to try something like that myself to be convinced.
It's a pretty amazing story, but it fits in well with what's been coming out about how the whole lobbying thing functions. These guys have absolute contempt for the democratic process; I think what's blowing you away about it is how it's all done so casually, without even a pretense of legitimacy. I mean, you'd think these people, all American citizens, would have the decency to at least pretend that what they're doing is wrong, that they might get caught, and should be discreet about it. But, hey, that's where our country is right now. Patriotism is simply something that's used to keep the rabble in line. Wealth runs everything now, and the insiders damn well know it.
