Zeon's Music Blog

Gravatar Just wanted to send a hello...
I'm a new big fan of your site, and this post has simply encouraged my interest! I had NEVER even acknowledged Kate Bush, and I'm embarrassed by that! I guess these tracks...or some of them are more recent, but "The Kick Inside?" she was 19, younger when she wrote most of the tracks? in like 1978 or something....writing these twisted vocal lines and lyrics....i think your word "bonkers" covers it too...but purely in endearment.

I think she simply had a cool brain....hah

Anyway, I'm really enjoying your site.
Best,
Jess

Gravatar I really like the puppini ssters cover- i also have the decemberist covering it and it's a good one, too

Gravatar Dig the covers. The only one that comes close to Kate's immaculate original, however, is The Chromatics' version of "Running Up that Hill."

Gravatar If you liked Wuthering Heights, I envy the fun you'll have looking up her other videos! Every single and video she produced had crazy, kooky ideas, unique costumes and setpieces, and express choreography, they're a delight to watch.

For her albums, I would start with Hounds of Love, arguably her masterpiece, or her first album The Kick Inside.

Gravatar I really like Placebo's version of Running Up That Hill. I love that song and the fact that it doesn't grow old.
Thank you for all the other versions as well

Gravatar Love Kate Bush, she has great music that is inspiring FANTASTIC style:

Gravatar I'm glad that you discovered Kate Bush. She is really quite amazing...though quirky, she's definitely got a beautiful soulful depth. Not sure what part of the world you are in, but if you are anywhere near Atlanta, on Aug. 1, we are going to celebrate her birthday with dance.

I love the song Them Heavy People!!! It's all about how healing and growth comes from within.

Love to you and your Musical Musings!!

Gravatar Kooky, yes, but there's no denying the massive influence she's had on music... you can see her being channeled through every release of Tori Amos :D

I'll never forget the unique rendition of this my old mum gave a few years back, it's one of those things that are so bad they're brilliant!

Gravatar Yay for Kate Bush. It took me a little while to get used to, but once I did, I couldn't get it out of my head! Glad you discovered it too
