Turning off Smileys in your Comments

Smileys, or emoticons, are facial expressions made by a certain series of keystrokes. Most often producing an image of a face sideways∞.

HaloScan offers a small resource of available smileys which are converted from the text into a small image and displayed in your comments. You can disable their use.

To disable the conversion of smileys in your comments:

1. On the main HaloScan site, select Settings from the menu on the left.
2. In the Window Settings section, set the Smileys option to Off.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, select Save Settings.

Note: By default the Smileys conversion is set to On.
