Additions:
The Post ID that HaloScan uses, better known as the comment identifier, is the key. You can use the Post ID to find the relevant comment link.
To find which post a comment refers to if using Blogger / Blogspot:
  1. On the main HaloScan site, go to the Settings page.
  2. Click the Beta Features tab
  3. Click the Setup link next to the Fetch Blog Post Titles label
  4. Follow the instructions to complete the wizard
  5. Your blog posts' titles will now display throughout the members section in place of the numeric Post IDs
To find which post a comment refers to with other systems:
  1. On the main HaloScan site, select Manage Comments.
A different method as recommend by artesea for Blogger (although this should work for other blogs) is to do the following
  1. Search for your post id on Google eg, http://www.google.com/search?q=113191399148381148

    Deletions:
Author's Note: This area of HaloScan is currently being re-developed (as of April 2005) and this information will be updated when a better method is implemented

It is acknowledged that this isn't the best way to accomplish this, but it is the only way at present. As mentioned in the Author's Note above, new functionality is under development to make this task much easier.

Which blog post was the comment left on?

The Manage Comments page lists all the comments left on your site, however, depending on your blog settings, visitors to your site may be leaving comments to old blog posts as well as current ones. So how do you find which comment was left for which blog post?
  1. Go to your blog. If you hover your mouse over a comment link you will see the following:
  2. You'll need to match the commentidentifier to the Post ID to find the post the comment was left on.
It is acknowledged that this isn't the best way to accomplish this, but it is the only way at present. As mentioned in the Author's Note above, new functionality is under development to make this task much easier.

The Post ID that HaloScan uses, better known as the comment identifier, is the key. You can use the Post ID to search through your blog to find the relevant comment link.

To find which post a comment refers to:
  1. On the main HaloScan site, from the menu on the left, select Manage Comments.
  2. For the comment you want to track to a post, jot down the Post ID.
  3. Go to your blog. If you hover your mouse over the comment link you will see the following: javascript:HaloScan('[commentidentifier]');
  4. Match the commentidentifier to the Post ID and you've found the post the comment was left on.
