FECK - "& #37 ;" should display as % but isn't. How can I display two percent signs without the Wiki interpreting them as code formatters???
  • According to the wikka wiki developers (just talked to them on IRC), that's a limitation of the system--you can't have two percents inside a code block. I'll try to mod the system so typing TWOPERCENT or something turns into two percent signs.
    • Right you are - I take it you changed something to display the code like that as well - mild panic!! - not sure it looks to great though... still, as long as it works
      • That actually is the default wikka wikki code css. The new haloscan css didn't have it so i added it in. But yeah, it does need to be modified to display better.
        • Well I'd lose the text box for the code, looks awful.

Usage Issues

In order for HaloScan to work you must write a short description for your entries. When you are entering a short description make sure you don't use spaces or any special characters (^%#$@!?:;.). You can use underscore instead of spaces.
    • If you have a single entry on a single page:
      <a href="javascript:HaloScan('&#37;&#37;page_name&#37;&#37;');" target="_self"><script type="text/javascript">postCount('&#37;&#37;page_name&#37;&#37;');</script></a> | <a href="javascript:HaloScanTB('&#37;&#37;page_name&#37;&#37;');" target="_self"><script type="text/javascript">postCountTB('&#37;&#37;page_name&#37;&#37;'); </script></a>

    • If you have a multiple entries on a single page:
      <a href="javascript:HaloScan('&#37;&#37;short_description&#37;&#37;');" target="_self"><script type="text/javascript">postCount('&#37;&#37;short_description&#37;&#37;');</script></a> | <a href="javascript:HaloScanTB('&#37;&#37;short_description&#37;&#37;');" target="_self"><script type="text/javascript">postCountTB('&#37;&#37;short_description&#37;&#37;'); </script></a>

  • Save your template.

    Deletions:
    1) If you have a single entry on a single page:
    <a href="javascript:HaloScan('&#37;&#37;page_name&#37;&#37;');" target="_self"><script type="text/javascript">postCount('&#37;&#37;page_name&#37;&#37;');</script></a> | <a href="javascript:HaloScanTB('&#37;&#37;page_name&#37;&#37;');" target="_self"><script type="text/javascript">postCountTB('&#37;&#37;page_name&#37;&#37;'); </script></a>
    1. If you have a multiple entries on a single page:
      <a href="javascript:HaloScan('&#37;&#37;short_description&#37;&#37;');" target="_self"><script type="text/javascript">postCount('&#37;&#37;short_description&#37;&#37;');</script></a> | <a href="javascript:HaloScanTB('&#37;&#37;short_description&#37;&#37;');" target="_self"><script type="text/javascript">postCountTB('&#37;&#37;short_description&#37;&#37;'); </script></a>
Now in order for all of this to work you must be using writing a short description for your entries, otherwise this isnt going to work. NOTE* when you enter a short description for your entry make sure you dont wrtie something with spaces or any special character (^%#$@!?:;.) because this will screw up the JS code and wont work. SOLUTION: use underscore instead of spaces, because the underscore isnt treated as a special character. eg. your title should look something like my_title

In step 2 of these instructions, you should replace HALOSCANUSERNAME with your HaloScan username.

To install HaloScan for Diaryland:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.haloscan.com/load/HALOSCANUSERNAME"> </script>

  3. Go back to Change your template and select How to change each individual entry on the page.
  4. Copy and paste the following code to your template, where you want the comment links to be displayed, we suggest you paste it after the
    entry
tag: 1) If you have a single entry on a single page:
    <a href="javascript:HaloScan('
