Installing HaloScan - Trellix

In step 6 of these instructions, you should replace HALOSCANUSERNAME with your HaloScan username.

To install HaloScan for Trellix:

1. In the Trellix Site Builder, select Add a Web Gem.
2. Set the location at the very top of the first page.
3. Choose the type of Web Gem, select Interactive Features.
4. Select Add Your Own HTML.
5. Select Add.
6. Copy and paste the following code into the box:
   <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.haloscan.com/load/HALOSCANUSERNAME"> </script>
   
   
7. When you create a blog post, switch to HTML and copy and paste the following code to your template, where you want the comment links to be displayed:
     <a href="javascript:HaloScan('CHANGETHIS');" target="_self"><script type="text/javascript">postCount('CHANGETHIS');</script></a> | <a href="javascript:HaloScanTB('CHANGETHIS');" target="_self"><script type="text/javascript">postCountTB('CHANGETHIS'); </script></a>

You will need to repeat step 7 every time you add a new post, making sure you change the text CHANGETHIS to something unique for every post. We suggest you use a date and time combination, for example daymonthyearhourminute would be 1007051854. You should only use single word or number combinations for the text.
