Header image not displaying

Note: The following is for HaloScan members using older comment templates. If you have recently donated and updated you will be using a new template which should not suffer from this issue.

If you have edited your comment HTML template, and the header image isn't displaying, it's likely that you haven't removed the comment tags around the header image code.

To remove the comment tags:
  1. On the main HaloScan site, from the menu on the left, select Template Gallery.
  2. In the middle of the page, select the HTML tab.
  3. Locate the following code: <!-- <img src="{HSHeadImage}"> -->
  4. Delete <!-- and -->
  5. Click Save.

Now click Preview Saved Template to check that the header image is now being displayed.

If it still isn't being displayed the URL to your header image may not be correct.

To check the URL to your header image:
  1. On the main HaloScan site, from the menu on the left, select Template Gallery.
  2. In the middle of the page, select the Settings tab.
  3. Check the URL displayed is correct (you can copy and paste it to a new browser window to make sure the image appears correctly).
  4. If required, edit the URL and click Save Settings.

You can click Preview of Your Template to check that the header image is now being displayed.
