One of my NT professors at seminary was a Passionist priest.

The old passionist monastery in SW Baltimore is a gem:

You have to go see inside sometime - quite amazing. The liturgy is bad, but at least they have preserved the church. They have a number of nice relics - including one of the True Cross.

This text seems to be talking about two things, the pope's occasional infallibility and the pope's terrestial authority. If the pope is not an absolute monarch, where are the limits of his authority? What congress or court checks his decisions? With regard to the pope's occasional infallibility, that is, of course, concerning doctrinal matters. Now, the pope could say anything he wants and cal...

Thanks for this post!

Anyhow, Benedict XVI is in my humble opinion a great Pope because he is a very fine theologian and a profound thinker. And most impressive is his true humility. I see in him a real follower of Christ. I converted from a Reformed tradition to the RCC this year because of this Pope, who he is, what he says (not what the MSM pretend he says and does!) and for his incredible

Well, even as a "Roman" who lives in Argentina and has never seen anglo-catholics in their worship, I've been saying this for a longtime: it would be SO GOOD if Grace and Saint Peter's Church could enter in full communion with Rome.
May the Lord guide us all into greater unity in these most interesting times.
Greetings, Adam.

I agree with Adam—too much to process with too little information. IDK about other Anglo-Catholics, but I'm waiting to see what the Apostolic Constitution says. As a married man with an annoying nagging vocation to the Holy Priesthood, such things do indeed need to be examined...

This mean-spirited post makes some points, but Anglicanism has actually been one of the better products of Christianity. Whatever one thinks of Henry VIII, the C of E has little to do with what he imagined. We can't look backward with too much hindsight or we will discover too many other skeletons in Romish closets we would rather avoid. Whatever one thinks of the current issues, at least Anglican...

Scott,

I'm still thinking about it and figuring out what it means.

Glad you'll be coming to Immaculate Conception. Bishop Rabb will be on the throne and preaching.

We're also having a Solemn Requiem and Absolution at the Catafalque on All Souls (11/02/09) at 6:00.

Hi Adam!

Perhaps a word about the personal ordinariates? Do you think the city of Baltimore is ready for one?

Hope to see you for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception at GASP.
