Our vapid culture is even turning our worthless politicians into "celebrities". We're about half a decade away from the Fall of the Roman Empire.

@Chris B: We're not going to talk about 90th percentile. You know why? Because it's boring.

Reminds me of agencies who like to talk about all of the Fortune 500 clients they have. But is the work any good?

I'm only 21 but think i fall in with the grumpy old men crowd, rubin. Sick of people who's life seems to revolve around what celebrity's are doing. Take Peter Andre and Katie price bullshit we have in Britain. Sad bastards!

Radio is strong because it's easy to use. Background comfort. No effort. And it's free. Busy people just like to have the radio on while they are doing something else.

Brilliant...I completely agree...and I'm a fashion designer...countless times I'm asked what celebrities do I dress...my response... "I would hope, as any other physically able mortal... that they would be able to dress themselves!!!" It makes me ill...

I'm a radio listener in many ways because there actually some brilliant radio programs out there now. Radio Lab (over the air), BBC Documentaries (podcasted) This American Life (PRI-Over the air) and WireTap (CBC-podcasted).

There's even a brilliant show called "The Age of Persuasion" from CBC that I think the AC might enjoy.

Then there are shows that are Podcast only like Dan Carlin's Hard

I am proud to nominate this Facebook status by the Chronicle of Philanthropy. Those guys, they're trying so hard:

"Philanthropy.com Help us crowdsource iParticipate by joining our live blog about how TV shows are highlighting volunteering and service."

The best part is that the whole iParticipate thing was basically declared a flop a few days later. http://tinyurl.com/yktzq2c

But Tom Cruise is trying to free us from the evils of Xenu so that all living humans can be in the "clear". Isn't that a contribution to society?
