i am soo impressed with you, kristen! seriously, no snark whatsoever. i am also jealous. because last november, i, too, pledged that i would be able to run 5 miles in a few months. and i was chugging along ever-so-slowly...until some asswipe rear-ended me coming off 128 after xmas and well, i've not run since.

you inspire me to start running as soon as this surgery ridiculous is all said and do...

I agree and disagree with the response to the ad campaign.

1. I agree with the response because running isn't easy, and suggesting that a person should "run easy" can be intimidating for people.

However...

2. I disagree b/c I think the real intent behind the slogan is in the mindset of running easy. Even if you run your heart out, if you feel alive and exuberant, you've run easy. If you

I highly recommend "Bodies" by Drowning Pool (also the song Papelbon originally came in to), "The Enemy" by Godsmack, and "Black Betty" by Ram Jam (?). I also run best when angry.

I feel your pain, Mz. Kristen- although the boobs aren't such an issue with me as they are pretty much non-existent, but rather it’s the Achilles tendon. And man when you pull it, you really should listen to people and not run on it for a couple days.

I've seen stick figures who couldn't run around the block if you enticed them with a particularly crisp piece of lettuce. And I've seen (and used to be) people who were carrying quite of bit of extra weight wiz by me looking like they were born for t...

It's true that you occassionally come across one of those runs where you just can't WAIT to be done - not because you are tired, but b/c you are so just freaking bored. Check out SELF magazine's website, they have some sample playlists. Also, we should totally swap music sometime and spice things up a bit. Can't wait until Sunday!!!

I really believe that no matter how experienced you become as a runner, every single run will teach you something about yourself, if you are lucky.
