After the boat had sat for weeks under a canvas boat cover, the mildew and smell was awful. I suggest using SunArmor. There are two formulas: one for water and stain protection, and one for UV protection. I even used the water repellent on my upholstered desk chair at work. Diet Coke just beaded up and never soaked in.
