That was a great instruction. Have you given any thought to updating it for 10.5? I tried following it and converting it for my 10.5.1 install, but the result was let's say less than satisfactory...

Hi Félim,

Thanks for your comment!

I just tested this with a few Intel machines and the results are indeed very flaky - a MBP will give me only a GPU temp, while a MB (CD) will not give any sensor readings at all!

I'll have to investigate this some more. I'll post something on the blog as soon as I find something...

Hi There,

Thanks for your code it looks exactly what I'm looking for but the only problem is I've tried the ioreg command on mnay machines (about 20) and it's never worked. This is a mix of MacMinis, G4/5s and a RacMAc Server too ie. XServe. Now it's possible that some of them don't have sensors but I know for sure the XServe does as it's listed in it's Server Manager properties. So it must be

Thanks for the reply! You means as text tracks?

I think that's the biggest tragedy with QT - there's a ton of wonderful stuff there, but no tools to take advantage of it.

LiveStage hasn't seen major improvements in years. Apple should really pick up on this, QT was years ahead of it's possibilities, but what does it all matter if there's no tools to use them?

One pretty good idea has been...

Closed Captioning has been in Quicktime for years. However, Apple has not produced any tools beyond manually adding the CC track. GoLive is the only product that will give you a UI interface to adding the Closed Captions.

Hi risto! Yeah, one of the initial ideas I had while writing this was to bundle all of it into a PKG but got a little too "iffy" with all that Python stuff and Intel Macs, so I just decided not too.

Maybe some day...
