Instead of spending $400 for a new bulb I'm looking at buying something for under $1000. I'm for a higher contrast ratio, very good brightness, and short throw (mine is presently at 13 feet to a 100" screen. Do you have several recommendations? Sony Panasonic, and Samsung are the best. I have a Vizio 32" which I like, but I mainly bought it because it was cheap ($325 with cash back from MNS). If you are going to buy a Vizio make sure to read as many reviews as you can as they vary greatly by model. Cnet.com is always a good place to start.
