The speed stays the same. All other fans speed changes but not the cpu fan speed. 24" Imac 10.5.4 (early 09) version I re-installed after a shutdown and issue did not fix. I also ran hardware test and all looks good. My HDD all the time is kept around 60 degrees, and sometimes even higher! (iMac 24 alum). But the speed of the fan is always kept at a minimum (1200rpm). Temperature sensor does not increase the speed of the fan. The maximum possible fan speed is 5500 !
