Thanks for this post. I sure can relate to what you say having been a general contractor myself for many years. Saving a bit of money goes straight to improving my bottom line! Take all the help with that that I can get these days. :-)

Clicking on the "Homepage" button will share with you a $100 Lowe's Gift Certificate that has been a great help to me...maybe will be for you too.

Cheers

I'm about to embark on a project similar to yours (but hopefully smaller in scope!). I'm curious, how much did the architectural drawings cost? Also, the pdf link seems to be broken, I'd love to see what you get for your money.

Thanks!

Our kitchen wall looked just like that - same green too - when we stripped the horrible wallpaper. They should just name the paint color "kitchen green" or something. It's a great color though!

Yes, we did have the cabinets custom made, but since we have such a small kitchen they weren't that expensive. Especially since we opted to paint them ourselves.

Wow, what a difference!! Are your cabinets custom-made? I love that you kept some of the old with the cabinet color. It must be so nice to have a functioning kitchen again!

You can also use a template like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000CEML1K/homeconstimpr-20

They work really well, or you can make a template with plywood. That way you don't have to measure each time.

What a difference it makes with your kitchen stove in place, and such a lovely poise from Kristin.
