Good. I'm late on this but it's what I'd have said, except I like your own version of that better (rethinking the political) ... oh well. Congratulations in any case.

Jon, ouch!

"Posthegemony: Political Theory and Latin America"

Y pues ciertamente ya no p

oh jon, its hard to believe.. Really, sounds so unfairly 'neutral' :-/

Perdona

Thanks Alessandro, and everyone else. In the end, the subtitle we've gone for (somewhat against the grain of comments, I admit) is "Political Theory and Latin America." In some ways, that's the most neutral subtitle; it doesn't try the impossible task of summarizing the book's argument in four or five words. Oh well.

I vote for "toward a Latin American Multitude" and 2nd place "affect, habit and the LA multitude"

The only thing that sounds a bit off is regionalizing the multitude...a concession to area studies that goes against the book's grain, but that is a bullet you might have to bite.

Good point Anonymous, but (don't know what JBM would think) to me "resistance" is very much associated with words such as "agency", "hegemony(ies)" and so on and to me it's a word/concept I don't like much since you need to unpack a lot of stuff in order to pinpoint what you really want to say with it (I know this happens all the time)... just my thoughts anyway...
cheers

I know I'm late on this... How about: Re-reading Bodies of Resistance in Latin America
That way you don't pre-empt too many of your arguments, nor give prominence to any one concept, but you do indicate how you're revisiting issues that haven't been explained satisfactorily by previous approaches.

Ok, Jon.
