what an amazing day. You are indeed a domestic goddess. The venison and wild turkey... d'artagnan really has fabulous products! With the smoke and hot coals working their magic at the hands of your
mighty crew... i was sooo impressed. Thanks for
the lesson in hearth cooking!

The recipe that calls for canned soup and canned fried onions may be good for people without food allergies. But what about people who can't eat dairy, wheat or preservatives?

I made a version similar to Martha's but made it gluten free and dairy free. Complicated? Maybe. But worth it for people who can't eat the ingredients in the original recipe and who love this recipe for Thanksgiving.

I am all with you on the not over complicating recipes of convenience. I love me a good comforting convenience casserole constructed from prepackaged parts, like tuna noodle casserole or broccoli casserole. Green been casserole, however, is abhorrent... to me, anyway.

Frenches?

Give them a whorl in the food processor and mix em with corn meal for breading.

Plop 'em ontop of Mashed Potatos.

Fill a bowl with them, top them with Gravy, and have an Obrocktastic breakfast?

I hadn't either, and I noticed it wasn't included on my can of onions! Campbell's describes it as the "secret ingredient."

Also, according to Campbell's: "Approximately 40% of all Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom soup ends up in a Green Bean Casserole." I wonder what's the percentage of French's Fried Onions. Does anyone use French's for anything else?
