Steven,

I bought a small rug in Darkhan, Mongolia which has the face of Ghengis Khan woven into it. The spelling is actually "Chinggis Khaan" beneath his depiction.

Anyway, our guide told us that when a great Mongol warrior died, the baby calf of a camel was slaughtered in front of the mother's eyes. The warrior was then buried in the same spot. The mother camel would always remember wher

Time to ask the Muslim believers to compliment their views with the ideas of the Western Enlightenment.

To understand the concept of non violence.

The scriptures were describing events among people who died long time ago.

I am sure Muslims and non Muslims accept that generalization is wrong.

According to the Koran, some non believers in Mekka behaved badly. Some Muslims have also viola...

Bob,

I have not seen that Ms. Palin has a firm grip on how the global chessboard works. It is also a chessboard where several key players are making important strategic moves and new alliances are being cobbled together right under our collective noses. This is not my Daddy's century. "Good" is not good enough for this time in American history.

While being a staunch Constitutionalist myself

Yes Bob, I DO know the origin of the photo. Hence the smallish "foul play" against Newsweek. You know I detest Newsweek anyway. The organization is run by intellectual midgets. smile

That being said, Mrs. Palin needs to focus on her education regarding many world issues and leave the world of photo ops and Oprah interviews for a season. May she return strong. She also needs to learn to pick her

You DO know that picture came from a photo op for Runner's Magazine....don't you?

I tire, as do many Americans, of the way our acceptance of elitist political dogma robs us of GOOD office holders.

They said the same things about a "B" actor who wanted to be Governor of California.

Y'all keep underestimating her.

And lest I look like Eliza.... I am having trouble getting Blogspot to space properly, align properly on the page. Appears to be some glitch which I cannot quite fix. My apology is extended re: format.

The Texas site for the death penalty includes women such as the "widow" from Gun Barrel City (no joke) who knocked off her husband(s) and buried them under the shed, the "wishing well", etc.

The woman who drowned her children in the bathtub, starting with the oldest and working down to the youngest, awaiting a time when her spouse was not home? She could plan and she could identify a descending

I'm really not interested in whether the death penalty is a deterrent. In fact, we know it isn't - though the 15 to 20 year interval between sentence and execution may be a factor.

The fact is (I think Plato pointed this out) that there are people who are human only in shape.

Most states have a website giving the particulars of their death row inmates. I've read some of them. They deserve...

Dear Reader,
I took the liberty to fix the typos because although I could read what was written it, er, looked like a cat-on-the-piano piece. smile I left your thoughts completely intact and without revision.

Thank you for reading.
