Z&TAOMM is an interesting book, I hope you enjoy it.

I recall the change of perspective the author experiences regarding his son, the passenger on his bike trip.

I also recall the seriousness with which Phaedrus seemed imbued, while I was in college, compared with my perspective on his actions and problems in my post-college days.

Please post on your reading of the book.

Do you have a link or source for the cop's comment? I think it would be a good example to hold out when some of the other bloggers I respect and usually agree with start trotting out the "thought-crime" mantra - showing why the ability to bring the Feds in is sometimes needed when the locals don't care because "it's just a queer."

People should be able to defend themselves. This case, though, sounds like homeowner made the situation worse by bringing a gun into play BEFORE there was threat of physical harm.

I love it when the good guys win but, in this case, sounds like the clerk got lucky. How did they get close enough to wrestle? Guns are okay IF people get training in their best/proper use.

Appears as if the Maui Times has been partaking of the Maui Wowee. Hopey McChange has done more to mar the image of the US than W ever did. I think he's REAL closer to Jimmahnee Kricket territory...

What else can we expect from an organization that has a sculpture out front of a revolver twisted into a pretzel? The same mindset that fuels liberal gun grabbers is at work with regard to piracy. If every ship sported a few armed guard piracy would disappear. The current policy ensures easy pickins!

The reason snopes had this to say is that this clip is winging its way around the internet being described as a collaboration between the University of Iowa Music Department and the Engineering School.

Er, US doctors practice on patients too. Ultimately, the only way to learn a procedure you haven't done before is to do it on someone.

The only problem here is the lack of supervision.

Wow, snopes has been increasingly sucking. Way to point out the obvious. What's next - are they going to tell us that hot dogs don't actually contain any dog meat? Pussy willows don't actually contain any female genitalia? Dry ice is pretty cold?
